It’s a done deal! We’ll be moving on the 5th August. Here’s a few photos of the place for now so you can see what it’s like…

Huge hail storm in Rolleston and we missed it!
Sarah, Jack and I were in town for a bit of shopping and while we were out, a huge hail storm hit Rolleston! 2-3cm hail – it smashed our Clearlight verandahs. Would have be awesome to watch!
Needed a new skipole for the boat.
So I took off to the Stainless Tube factory, got a 2M length and then paid a visit to a local engineer who helped me TIG weld it up!
Our new pet Magpie!
We were in the paddock the other day and this friendly magpie came up to us. No idea where it came from, but it thinks I’m it’s Mum and keeps knocking at the door for food. It’s really tame and I’ve already taught it to be patted.
Jacksons Birthday cake!
This is the awesome cake Sarah (Mum) made for jack’s 2n’d birthday. She did a great job! Can’t wait to see what the kids are like on the sugar!
Daddys Hack Boat Bracket!
I wanted to show off my achievement of the weekend (took 2 hrs). And yes, I know most people will be dumbfounded with the boringness of this post, but hey – I’m excited – I sold a problem! 😉
I got sick of the boat’s motor dropping off the standard mechanical lock when towing the boat on the road (bumps etc), and putting undue pressure on the electric lift gas strut, so I built a cool wee device from old scrap steel in my shed that slips onto the trim lock bar and also onto the engine clamp.
I buffed all the rusty steel to a clean polish on my grinder, measured and cut the pieces in my garage and went to Fergs where he helped weld her up on his ancient Arc welder. Painted it with an anti rust spray enamel – It fit’s like a glove and the engine doesn’t move an inch now!! You can only take it off by lifting the lack lever on the left side of the motor…
So what do you rate my effort out of 10? 😉 he… (builder bob!) – Julian
Not bad for a country hack!
