The Stones beat the Tough Mudder!

Thanks to Gopika’s awesome photography, here’s some photos from the Tough Mudder event Sarah and I just completed!! about 20km of muddy madness! Tested us to our limits. We had a team of 6 and it was definitely a team effort to get through.

I can tell you… I have one amazing tough wife! Sarah was awesome and did everything, even got electrocuted! Love her to bits!

Leg workout for a tramp…

I’m heading up tramping soon with Gav and Si. We’re planning to go Alpine and will be carrying a fair bit of weight, so thought I’d do some leg work.  Went up to the local gym and was leg pressing 250kg, which is a new limit for my chickenlegs… The machine was broken and wouldn’t go down fully but still a decent attempt for a 40yo! (old man!) – I did 10x sets of 10 reps…

Quick trip to fish at The Coromandel

I took the family out for a cruisy day on the water. It was such a great day it was glassy conditions most of the time! We went around Waiheke, then ducked across the Happy Jack’s Island in the Coromandel. We saw workups, Dolphins, Penguins and got enough snapper for a good feed for dinner!

Jack can now bait his hooks himself and Livvy finally got her sealegs and now loves it!

A nice day at the beach

We spent the afternoon at Cockle Bay with the family, just hanging out. It was great to let the kids play, pickup crabs, get sunburnt and just have a great time.

Jack and Dad’s Camping trip to Twizel

Here’s a few sweet photos from our recent trip to the McKenzie Country. We stayed at the Lake Ruitaniwha holiday park for two nights. Absolutely awesome trip with my boy. Lots of fishing, great scenery, good company and late nights with Milo!

Jack has finally master his casting rhythm! Check out the style! He’s in the groove!

Check out the brave lad! Taking a dip in a high country lake (Lake Ohau).

There was a cool pontoon slide at the campground. Me and Jack just had to have a swim. Totally freezing water but really refreshing!

Pretty basic food but after a long day it did the trick!

An Adventure Day!

We took the family out today for a wee adventure. First stop was the Orton Bradley Park where we went for a nice tramp. The kids did well…

Then we went to Diamond Harbour Wharf for a spot of fishing and Jack had a swim, well actually a jump off the wharf from a swinging gantry rope. Great fun! See the vids below!

Swimming in Leslie’s Pool

Here’s a snippet from the Stonecrew mucking around up the road. Jack’s just learnt to snorkle and Livvy is slowly getting the hang of swimming… Note that Livvie jumps up and bites me at one point!
