This is Jack on his second time out on the scooter. Not bad eh! I’m feeling the need to dust off my skateboard and have a bash at the skate park…

A day at Akaroa!
Sunday morning was gloomy in Christchurch so I grabbed the family and took them to Akaroa for a break and a fish. I was really proud of Jackson as he caught his first fish solo.
He dropped the line, hooked the fish and reeled it in himself. What a rush! Time for the big fish now! I’m feeling the need to take the boat out for a proper fish somewhere!
Why is it that when I get a lovely photo of Sarah Olivia has to poke her tongue out to spoil the shot…
“Wow Jack, what a big gun you have!”
Bedtime Stories…
Jess, Devoe and Jackson having their bedtime stories. It’s been awesome having them stay but we’ll have to head to Aussie son to see them on their home turf. Jack and Devoe have been great together!
The entrance deck is done!
Just need the deck lights, fern garden up each side and it’ll be good to go. I needed a flagstone (Shist rock) for an initial step.
I did a contra with the stonemason… Two metre wide flat stones for two bottles of Bourbon. So I had to pop to the liquor shop for a few bottles. Typical dodgy country deals eh. Will look great though!
Brother and Sister…
Here’s the two ratbags having a moment on the floor.. Jack and Olivia seem to be getting on pretty well!
Here’s a random photo Jack took when he stole my iPhone… Man, my baby Jack is really growing up. He already knows how to download apps from the iTunes AppStore on the iPad!
Jack and his sister Olivia
Jack having a cuddle with his sister. He loves her (I think) and they’ll be great mates when she’s a little bigger.
1st day at Soccer!
It’s official! Jack has started playing soccer for the “Rolleston Midgets”. His team is called the “Bunny Lodge Bulldogs” – cool eh!
They will play at 11am each Saturday down at Rolleston. The kids are great, none have a clue what they’re really doing, it’s complete chaos but it’s totally fun.
After a slow start he got into it and kicked the ball around heaps!
Here’s Jack checking out the other kids…
And doing stretches like a pro! What a good lad!
This is his team. They are pretty small and cute to watch running around. The coach, “Mike” seems to love what he does. Give Jack a few weeks and he’ll be totally into it. That is until the winter frost kicks in!
Country fun–Firewood time!
We had a heap of dying trees and about 150m of willows that needed about 15 feet taken off before winter. We had a contractor chop all the trees, but me and Jackson were on firewood splitting and bark chipping duty!
Jack was helping me run the splitter. He loved playing with it! I think that day we got about 1/3 of my winter wood supply so we’ve got a bit left to go!
Only real problem was that these are pretty loud tools so it’s not helping baby Olivia get her beauty sleep!
Jack’s buddies…
Here’s Jackson with some of his soft toy buddies. There’s a few more in storage but these are his favorites. He’ll think it’s Christmas when all our house stuff comes back from the movers…
